Want to become a Match Official in Ontario?
Ontario Soccer offers two courses for those who want to become registered match officials in Ontario: Small Sided clinics and Entry Level Match Official clinics.
Small Sided Game (7v7)
This course is best suited for those who are just getting started in the area of match officiating and want to gain a better understanding and command of the game. Age groups officiated in this bracket are U7 to U10. Those interested in this course must be 12 years of age as of March 31 of the current year, or older. All who complete this course will become an accredited match official with Ontario Soccer and will not have to register again until the following year.
Entry Level Game (9v9 & 11v11)
This course is best suited for those who are interested in officiating the game on a larger scale and have a general understand of the laws of the game. Age groups officiated in this bracket are U11 and older. Those interested must be 14 years of age as of March 31 of the current year, or older. All who complete this course will become an accredited match official with Ontario Soccer and will not have to register again until the following year.
The Match Officials Course are delivered in self hybrid format. The majority is online and self guided.
