Team Tryouts for 2025 NSL Travel Season
August 13, 2024

The Lincoln Storm will be holding tryouts this September/October for both Boys & Girls travel teams for the U8 - U16 age groups.  We are looking for kids that love soccer and want to take their training to the next level.  The formation of these teams will be dependent on the interest at each level so please spread the word.  Teams will play in the NSL for the 2025 summer season and all players are encouraged to try out.

**********************************************

How Long Is The Season?:

The season starts after the May long weekend and is done by the second week of September.

When Are Games?:

All games are played on weekday evenings with no games on statutory holidays or the weekends.  Each age group has a dedicated game night.

How Far Do We ‘Travel’?:

The Niagara Soccer League (NSL)  plays within the Niagara District which includes; Niagara Falls, St Catharines, Welland, Port Colborne, Fort Erie, NOTL, Lincoln, West Lincoln and Grimsby (all depending on which Club has a team in the age division).

Where Do We Play?

All home games are played at Lions Park in Beamsville on Fly Rd.  The schedule is split with half of the games at your Home field and half of your games at Away fields.

What Is The Time Commitment?:

For ages U8-U12 Ontario Soccer guidelines permit 1 game and a maximum of 90-120 minutes of practice per week.  The commitment is not much greater than House League soccer today.

Tournaments:

Entry into tournaments is a team decision but each team typically enters one local weekend tournament and will play in the season finals.

Training:

Each team will have dedicated coaching/training session with Revolution Soccer to supplement their in team training.

Can I still play another sport in the winter (hockey, dance, basketball etc)?:

Yes, the regular playing season runs from May to September. Some teams do start optional training indoor around Feb/Mar but a majority of kids in travel soccer do have another sport they play in the offseason. While there can be some overlap at times it is not an issue to if you communicate with your coach.

Cost:

Although fees for next season have not yet been determined, the registration fees historically for the travel program have been around $300-$400 for the season ($100-150 more than House League).
